ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Meet Eric Goins

Eric Goins, founder of Compass Actor Services

Working actor. Experienced coach. A practical perspective on the business.

Eric Goins is an Atlanta-based actor, producer, educator, and founder of Compass Actor Services. His television credits include The Righteous Gemstones, Stargirl, Halt and Catch Fire, Will Trent, Cobra Kai, and Murdaugh: Death in the Family. His film credits include The Accountant, Ride Along, Ride Along 2, and Boss Level.

Eric founded Compass Actor Services in 2015 to give actors a professional place to prepare, work, and record auditions. His coaching focuses on specific preparation, playable objectives and actions, truthful on-camera behavior, and adjustments actors can actually use. He works with actors in person in Atlanta and over Zoom, wherever they are based.

Beyond his work on screen, Eric teaches acting for the camera at Georgia State University and is a former Assistant Artistic Director at Whole World Improv Theatre. He served two terms as President of the SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Local and is Vice Chair of the 2026 SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical/Streaming Negotiating Committee. His service also includes the last two Commercials negotiating committees and national work on performers’ rights, working conditions, and artificial intelligence.

At Compass, that combination of experience shapes a straightforward approach: identify the real problem, make clear choices, do the work, and leave with something you can apply to the next audition.
